What does god look like?

The question of What Does God Look Like? has been a topic of interest for many people, especially those who believe in God. According to a Harris Poll, 74 percent of Americans believe in God, and this belief is said to lead to a better quality of life.

The Bible describes God as something that cannot be fully understood. For example, John 4:24 states that God is a spirit, and Exodus 33:20 says “You cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” This suggests that God’s appearance is beyond human comprehension.

However, people’s imaginations have run wild with ideas of what God could look like. An artist asked different people what they thought God looked like when they were children and published an infographic of the responses. The image shows God dressed like Santa Claus, Abraham Lincoln, Kenny Rogers, and a man with a large beard.

Rappers such as Kanye West, Eminem, and Jay-Z also relate themselves to gods. They use the term “god” as a form of self-promotion. In the 2003 film “Bruce Almighty,” Morgan Freeman played God, appearing as a homeless citizen and a man dressed in a white suit. Freeman himself said in an interview that he is God because humans are a reflection of God and God is what people interpret him to be.

There have been instances where people claim to have seen the image of God in the sky or at sunset. The Huffington Post published a photo of what many believed to be God and an angel in the sky. In the UK, a photo of the sun setting was said to have the face of God in it.

Two bible verses suggest that God looks like a human. Genesis 18:1-3 explains that God appeared to Abraham as a man, and in Ezekiel 1:26-28, God’s appearance is described as a man sitting on a throne.

Regardless of what God looks like, the important thing is to believe in the existence of a higher power that guides and protects us. The concept of God is unique to each individual and can vary greatly, but the belief in a higher power can lead to a better quality of life. What does God look like to you?
